Our history
The idea of Groau.com was born several years ago, specifically in 2015. From the beginning, the objective of its creator, Cesc Alsina, was to give voice to small and medium-sized businesses. After several years working on the project and various pivots, Groau.com began to function as a comparer and discoverer of products. Products sold in local businesses around the world. We didn't have the capacity to sell, so we started helping brands to start being recognized and visitors to have sustainable and respectful options with their favorite items.

In February 2021, already with the ability to sell ourselves, we became a Marketplace. Initially, what we were most concerned about was giving a voice to any business, whether it was small or medium, and that it was local. But we realized that not all of these businesses lived up to what they said. We spent time thinking about what exactly made us happy. We found that doing what we actually say we do was the answer. So we asked all brands to do the same. Therefore, the most important thing for us is honesty.
We want the brands that are in Groau to have a business model known as Slow Fashion, that is, the alternative to Fast Fashion, where sustainability, awareness in consumption, the assessment of product quality, the well-being of its workers and its durability are the most important.
We realized that, although there are not many brands that are committed to sustainability, local production, fair trade, environmental well-being, social well-being, more and more, they begin to believe in a world where these criteria are more valuable than the simple fact of consuming and buying. We also realized that consumers have begun to consume with environmental responsibility, that is, consumers themselves prefer honesty, sustainability and product quality over quantity.
